Governor Emmanuel Adil Anthony urged the Juba City Legislative Council to work collectively with the Mayor to propel efforts aimed at lifting the image of the city.
The call was made in a meeting with a delegation from Juba City Legislative Council, led by the Mayor H.W. Christopher Sarafino Wani and the Speaker of the City Council, paid a courtesy call on the Governor to congratulate him on his appointment and to formally introduce the leadership of the Juba City Legislative Council to the State leadership.
The delegation briefed the Governor on several initiatives the Council is currently undertaking. These include proposed bills on the digitalization of revenue collection, rental value assessment, and waste management mechanisms.
Governor Adil encouraged the Mayor and the Legislative Council to continue with the ongoing reorganization of the city, stressing the need to uplift its image and keep Juba clean, green, and safe.
On the Konyo Konyo market fire outbreak that happened today’s morning, the Governor extended his sympathy to the affected traders and pledged robust remedial measures to end the recurring fire incidents as authorities are investigating the matter to establish the full course and the damages caused by the incident.
Governor Adil further reiterated his commitment to reclaiming occupied public spaces within the City Council to ensure public use as intended.
