The rule also aims to tackle crime and bad behaviour that happens in these places. Anyone who breaks this rule will face serious consequences. Club, disco, and sports club owners who let children under 18 into their places will be fined at least 1,000,000 South Sudanese Pounds (SSP) or be jailed for up to three months. They might also lose their license to run the place. Children who are found in these places against the rule will also be taken to court.
Each child could be fined at least 500,000 SSP and might be jailed for three months, as stated in the order. To make sure the rule is followed, the Commissioner told the Inspector of Police, the National Security Service (NSS), the Criminal Investigation Department (CID), and all Payam Directors in Yei River County to start enforcing the rule right away. Hon.Samuel Henry Malimbo said the rule starts on 2 July 2026.
He explained that this measure is about keeping children safe and promoting good behaviour, education, and a safer environment in Yei River County. Press unit Office of Hon.Commissioner Yei River County CES.
