During the Mass for Palm Sunday, Pope Leo XIV spoke about Jesus as the “Sovereign of Peace”, who disavows war and does not hear the prays of those engaged in war.
Pope Leo XIV presided over a Mass for the congregation at St. Peters Square on Palm Sunday of the Lords Passion.
Pope Leo XIV, in his homily during Mass, reflected on Jesus as the “Sovereign of Peace” amid the violence occurring around Him.
As we travel with Jesus on the way to the cross we reflect on His suffering for the love of all people.
“There is no end to His gentleness,” the pope said. “While men desire to commit acts of aggression, He seeks to share in the lives of all people, while others use swords and clubs.”
Even though everything around Jesus was dark and destructive, he came to bring life to the world and to give his light to mankind.
The pope reiterated several times that Jesus is the “Sovereign of Peace” by describing some of the acts that Jesus performed during his passion that show that Jesus is the “Sovereign of Peace.”
