On 26th March 2026, Ka’duro Agro Limited participated in the Omia Agribusiness Renewable Expo in Arua, an event that brought together innovators, agribusinesses, and development actors to showcase practical solutions in renewable energy and sustainable agriculture. The visit was not just about attendance, it was a deliberate move to learn, benchmark, and identify scalable ideas that can transform farming systems back home in Yei River County.
At the expo, the Ka’duro team engaged with a wide range of technologies and approaches, including solar-powered irrigation systems, post-harvest handling innovations, climate-smart production practices, and efficient input distribution models. What stood out clearly was how renewable energy is being integrated directly into agriculture reducing costs, improving productivity, and making farming more resilient. These are not theories; they are working systems already benefiting farmers across the region.

One key takeaway was the importance of localized innovation. Many of the solutions shown were not overly complex or expensive, they were adapted to the realities of smallholder farmers. This is exactly where Yei River County has an opportunity. With its fertile land and active farming population, the region does not need to reinvent agriculture; it needs to adopt, adapt, and scale what is already working.
For Yei to replicate such success, there must be a shift from fragmented efforts to structured agricultural systems. This includes investing in demonstration farms, promoting solar irrigation for dry-season production, strengthening farmer training on post-harvest handling, and building stronger linkages between farmers and markets. The expo reinforced that productivity alone is not enough efficiency, quality control, and access to reliable inputs are what drive real transformation.
Equally important is the role of partnerships. The Arua experience showed how collaboration between the Government, private sector players, NGOs, and farmers accelerates impact. For Ka’duro, this aligns directly with its mission of delivering “quality from the ground up”combining seed production, advisory services, and market access into one integrated system.
This visit marks a step forward in positioning Ka’duro Agro Limited as a learning and innovation-driven agribusiness. More importantly, it sends a clear message. “the future of agriculture in Yei is not limited by resources, but by how quickly we adopt better systems”
The question now is simple will we observe and move on, or will we take action and build something better?
